What happened
Researchers in Indonesia have historically had to build separate tools to collect and clean data from different sources — social media, news sites, e-commerce, reviews — because each platform uses different formats and access methods. This new open platform called SocialX does that assembly work once, in a modular way that lets researchers focus on actual analysis instead of data plumbing.
Why it matters
When data collection infrastructure is fragmented, research productivity suffers because researchers spend months building pipelines instead of asking questions; a shared platform removes that bottleneck and makes research in data-rich but technically scattered environments feasible at scale.
