The US government is removing old reporting rules for natural gas vehicle tanks

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is proposing to remove outdated reporting requirements for compressed natural gas fuel containers. This means manufacturers will no longer have to submit reports on phase-in compliance for these tanks, as the phase-in period ended years ago.

This is a small administrative cleanup. It removes a reporting burden that no longer serves a purpose. The rules about how safe natural gas tanks must be are not changing, only the paperwork related to an old transition period.
