Cargo ships carrying dangerous goods now get a moving security bubble in Corpus Christi

The Coast Guard is creating temporary moving security zones around certain vessels carrying high-risk cargo in the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. This means no other boats or people can enter a 500-yard radius around these ships without special permission.

This rule makes it harder for anyone to approach ships carrying dangerous goods in a major US port. It shifts the burden of security from static port defenses to dynamic, vessel-specific protection. This could become a standard for other ports handling similar cargo.
