A small stretch of Maryland river will be closed for a boat race next year
What happened
The Coast Guard is temporarily closing parts of the Bush River and Otter Point Creek in Maryland. This will happen for two days in May 2025 to make way for a high-speed power boat race.
Why it matters
This is a routine, temporary closure for a specific event. It does not change any long-term rules about river access or use. It simply ensures safety during a planned event.
The signal
This regulation will expire automatically after May 4, 2025, and will not be extended.
