US housing department cleans up its books, removing old homeless aid programs

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is officially removing rules for two old homeless assistance programs. These programs were replaced by a new, consolidated program more than a decade ago.

This document is a bureaucratic cleanup. It removes regulations for programs that no longer exist, making the Code of Federal Regulations more accurate. It does not change how homeless assistance is funded or delivered today, as the consolidation happened in 2009.
