A railroad bridge in Ohio can now stay closed for longer

The Coast Guard changed the rules for how long the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge over Sandusky Bay, Ohio, can stay closed. It can now remain closed for up to 10 minutes longer when a train is approaching.

This small change means that train traffic will have slightly more priority over boat traffic at this specific location. For boaters, it means waiting a bit longer for the bridge to open. For the railroad, it means fewer stops and starts for trains.
