Airbus A350s no longer need repeated engine leak checks

The US Federal Aviation Administration has removed a rule requiring repeated leak tests on a specific engine part for Airbus A350 airplanes. It turns out the problem the rule addressed was not as dangerous as first thought.

Airlines operating Airbus A350s no longer have to perform a specific maintenance task. This saves them time and money. The FAA decided the risk of a small air leak combining with an engine fire was too low to justify the mandatory checks.
